Palliative Care Nursing

Comfort, dignity and courage at the end of life.

Registered nurses caring for people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Palliative care units Oncology and haematology Community and aged care

Overview

Nurses spend more time with people at the end of their lives than any other professional, and are uniquely placed to shape how palliative care is delivered. This specialty provides a systematic introduction to palliative care nursing concepts.

Its person-centred approach supports safe, assured care in acute and palliative care units, haematology and oncology services, and aged care and community settings, using simulated case studies to build clinical reasoning.
