Kristi Latimore is a Registered Nurse with 23 years of experience working in health since 2002, bringing broad expertise across emergency, primary health care, sexual health and blood borne viruses, First Nations health, and clinical education. Throughout her career, she has been extremely passionate about ensuring students receive high-quality education to equip them to deliver holistic, person-centred and culturally appropriate care.
Kristi has worked as a Registered Nurse in various emergency departments including small rural hospitals and larger regional referral hospitals across Australia. She has also worked in primary health care settings requiring excellent clinical assessment and communication skills. As a key facilitator in setting up the UNE Coledale Student-Led Clinic, she was instrumental in developing an innovative model for increasing student placements and meeting community demand for primary health care services. Her early involvement in clinical education stemmed from a deep passion for delivering high-quality education to both students and practising nurses, supporting continuous improvement in patient care.
Passionate about all patients receiving culturally safe and appropriate care, particularly First Nations peoples, Kristi has accumulated extensive experience in justice health, primary health care, and Aboriginal health settings. She is deeply committed to lifelong learning and to advancing nursing education and practice through advocacy for culturally secure and equitable health care delivery. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Nursing at the Institute of Health and Management, Perth, she continues to champion excellence in nursing education and culturally competent healthcare practice.
