BIO
I have worked with international students within a range of education institutes for the past 25 years and am very aware of the difficulties they experience, particularly in studying within a very different learning environment. I have extensive experience in providing academic support to students who are struggling with their studies ensuring they receive the assistance they need. I have also supervised students with both individual and group projects, including those relating to course placement. My passion for social justice and equity is evident in my extensive work with vulnerable populations. As a Social Worker in private practice, I provide individual and group counselling to a diverse clientele, including students, LGBTIQ+ individuals, and clients with complex needs. Furthermore, I serve as a Family/Domestic Violence Counsellor, collaborating with immigration lawyers in providing trauma-informed support to people experiencing domestic violence and reports to the Department of Home Affairs. My passion in education is to assist students to achieve personal, professional and academic success and I am very excited to be working at IHM where I can support students to understand and connect theories to real-world situations, ensuring they’re well prepared for the workforce when they graduate.
