BIO
Dr. Sambath My is a Lecturer in Global Leadership and Management Studies, with a decade of leadership and training experience in Cambodia and a combined five years of experience in community development, research, and evaluation with Victorian government departments, and universities in Victoria, Australia. He was a tutor and is currently a Guest lecturer for the Master’s Development Studies Program at the University of Melbourne.
Sambath completed his PhD in Development Studies, winning the SSPS Best PhD Thesis Award 2020 from the School of Social and Political Sciences (SSPS) at the University of Melbourne. He also completed his Master of Development Studies, gaining First Class Honours at the University of Melbourne. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Development Management in Cambodia.
His research has focused on caring masculinities, childcare policy, men’s engagement in preschool education, regional migration, sexual lives and respectful relationships for people with cognitive disabilities, workplace gendered violence in local government areas, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His publications have appeared in Q1 journals such as NORMA: International Journal for Masculinity Studies, and the Journal of Development Studies. He currently has three manuscripts under review by Q1 journals and is working on two journal manuscripts and a book chapter.
