Dr. Philomina Jacob

BIO
Dr. Philomina Jacob is an academic and administrative leader in the field of Nursing. After earning her BSc in Nursing from Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, India in 1989, she began her work as a staff nurse in the acute care unit. She spent six years as a Nurse Educator for the Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The job description includes training Foreign Nurses in Saudi Arabia to provide Primary Health Care and Basic Life Support. After completing her Master of Nursing in Medical Surgical Nursing(2002) from the University of Kerala in India, she began her work as a Lecturer in India’s Bachelor of Nursing program. The position entailed curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation in both classroom and clinical placements. A devoted student mentor with an interest in medical surgical nursing, nursing education, and research, who has served in multiple institutions in Kerala for over 20 years in capacities ranging from Lecturer to Professor and Principal. Master of Science in Psychology (2004), Ph.D. in Nursing (2015), PG Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics (2017), and Master of Business Administration (2022) were earned in order to fulfill the roles of teacher, mentor, and administrator to perfection. Participated in numerous national and international conferences, has articles in numerous journals, and is a life member of the Trained Nurses’ Association of India and the Nursing Research Society of India.
In 2020, she joined IHM back-office support as Director of Studies and is supporting IHM students & staff in various projects.
