Alex Pannicottu Oomen (AALIA) working as the Librarian/ eResource Coordinator in Health Careers International Pty. Ltd. Previously worked as Librarian in ECU/Victorian Institute of Technology as Librarian. Earlier I worked as Cultural Heritage Volunteer – Heritage Collection Digitisation. Before coming Australia Worked as a librarian in Saintgits Groups of institutions and worked as guest lecturer in DOS in Christianity at University of Mysore. I hold a Associate Membership (69944) from ALIA. I am an ordained Priest in Syrian Jacobite Christian Church in India, I hold Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy and Masters in Christian Studies from University of Mysore. And did my Bachelor of Theology in Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Dehradun India. I secured Bachelor of Library and Information Management from Box Hill Institute as a gap filling Course. I hold a post-graduation in Library and Information Science. My under graduation was also in Library and Information Science. My education was in India. Both these qualifications are accessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Masters and Bachelor’s Degree by OQU. I have over 14 years’ experience as a librarian at Saintgits Groups of Institutions, India. In my skills, I have provided customer service and inquiries desk duties, Guided customers with book and literature searches using databases, printing resources, and the internet. Extensive experience in collection development; book selection, acquisition cataloguing, data entry, and calculation activities. Engaged in Cataloguing and Classification (using AACR2 and DDC), rearranged all the library resources and created a database to search for library materials. Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Macromedia Fireworks, Library Operating Software: Exlibris ALMA & Primo, ProQuest, EBSCOhost, SOUL, KOHA, and eHive. , excellent communication skills. Strong analytical and assessment skills.
