Learning Beyond the Classroom
A powerful Wayapa workshop grounded in culture, connection and respect.
THE STORY
Learning, connection and community

Our Bachelor of Social Work students at IHM Melbourne took part in a powerful and thought-provoking workshop with Prof. Maria Mackay and Ashlee Williams Barnes from Wayapa Wuurrk.
The session gave students an opportunity to engage with Indigenous knowledge, perspectives and practices while reflecting on the importance of culture, connection and respect in social work.
Through meaningful conversations and shared teachings, students gained valuable insights that will help shape culturally responsive practice and their future roles as social workers.
