Mental health social workers provide psychosocial assessment, therapeutic interventions and counselling, and coordinate care for people experiencing mental ill-health - always in the context of a person's relationships, housing, culture and community.

Getting there with the IHM BSW

Experienced social workers can pursue AASW accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker, which can lead to providing Medicare-funded mental health services - one of the few allied health professions with this pathway.
